About me

I am a user experience designer and researcher living in Seattle. My background is in human computer interaction and human factors.  I have extensive experience doing both user research and interaction design for web, mobile, and in-car products. I believe in working with collaborative, motivated, and agile teams that are excited to create usable and beautiful products.

Conducted user research and design for desktop, mobile, and in-car applications:

  • Introduced the practice of usability studies to Tweddle & led creation of a driving simulator lab to facilitate them

  • Conducted user research (surveys, user journeys, usability studies including using the driving simulator)

  • Organized regular UX topics discussions to stay current on the newest UX trends

Conducted research in the following areas:

  • Auditory feedback and navigational systems; created and evaluated the usability of a system for delivering navigational information using both speech and non-speech audio.

  • Query devices; investigated different ways to query location-based information using graphical displays to improve the usability of systems used to search for points of interest on a map.

Research Assistant

March 2001 - May 2002

Modified Java IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to be accessible for people with visual disabilities; integrated voice synthesizer. Conducted user testing, collected feedback from the users, organized and analyzed results to make design recommendations. Gained experience in conducting research and application development (accessibility and synthesized speech technologies, multi threaded programming).
